Microsoft’s newest search engine offering, Bing has been launched–two days earlier than expected, and so far appears to be working well and attracting plenty of visitors. Bing, which is an update of Microsoft Live Search, is being marketed as a ” decision engine” as opposed to a search engine, and comes with many different specialized pages, including Bing Travel Bing Maps for Enterprise, and Bing Cashback.
“I think the benefits are subtle,” Andrew Frank, a research vice president at Gartner, Inc, told ComputerWorld.com, when asked to describe Bing. ” I don’t think they jump right out at you when you first start using it. It takes a while to appreciate the difference and I think the difference is a lot more pronounced in certain categories, like travel.”
Other features of Bing include additional information, search history, and related searches in the search engine margin results, localized city guides, and the ability to sign in using your Hotmail ID and password and customize your search results.
It remains to be seen as to whether Bing will become a search engine giant, like Microsoft’s largest competitor, Google, but it will be interesting to see what Bing has to offer in the coming months in any case and whether Google and Yahoo! expand upon their own search engine features in an effort to compete.

Great post. Can I ask you a question? I want to start a blog as well that is why I was searching on the internet for blogs to use as examples, do you find you have to be perfect in your grammar to have people like what you write? I have been told I write like I speak, so I was wondering if that was a bad thing.

Lawrence, You don’t have to be a novelist in order to have a highly popular blog. However, having bad grammar can confuse your readers (like a misplaced comma or period). I’d recommend that you have a friend proof your blogs. Good luck!
