Master the Art of Writing Great Headlines

Most people know that having unique, optimized content on their website is important, but they often neglect one of the most crucial components-the headlines.  Headlines are what grab your interest and make you want to read more. Here are some quick tips for creating eye-catching headlines of your own.

Make It Interesting: If you are writing content about the history of  and how to care for Basset Hounds, for example, don’t just call your article/blog post /content page “Basset Hounds” or “About Basset Hounds.” Try “Fun Facts About Basset Hounds” instead. Doesn’t that sound more like an article that you would want to read?

Keep It Short: The headline “The History And Development Of The Social Caste System In Indian Societies And Its Impact On The Modern Culture” loses my attention almost immediately, especially if I am searching for what most people on the Internet are searching for: quick, immediate, easy-to-understand information.  Keep your headlines as short and to the point as possible, without omitting the essentials, and you’ll automatically attract more readers and visitors.

Use The Right Words: Don’t forget one of the most important rules of effective, SEO-optimized content-using your keywords in the headline whenever possible.  If your website is focused on Los Angeles house painting, for instance, it just makes sense to include this keyword phrase in the headline.  So not: “The Five Best House Painting Tips” but “The Five Best Los Angeles House Painting Tips.”  You get the idea.

Headlines can be tricky, but with a little practice, they are a skill that anyone can master.

I agree that great headlines are highly important and we need to get the attention of both human readers and search engines. This is a very interesting topic to me, because capable copywriters are not necessarily proficient SEO experts and vise versa. So, it takes quite some amount of team work or skillful approach to write such headlines to win both worlds.
