In this post, I’m going to show you how to leverage one blog post for maximum inbound traffic. Blogs are great for many reasons, but if you have a new blog, most of your customers probably don’t even know about it yet. How much better would it be if your blog wasn’t just stuck on your website, but instead went out to everyone in your social network?
For simplicity, we’re going to focus on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, which are on top of the heap of social networks these days.
Twitterfeed.com – Once you sign up for a free account, you can set it to automatically check for new blog posts. Once it finds them, it will automatically post the title and the link to your Twitter account. The sign-up is a little cumbersome, but once you’re logged in the setup is simple.
LinkedIn.com – Once you’re logged into your LinkedIn account, click on the Applications link underneath your inbox. Select the WordPress or TypePad application from the Featured Applications list depending on what you’re using for your blog. Add in the URL of the blog and LinkedIn will automatically search for updated blog posts! Nice and easy.
Facebook.com – Facebook imports your blog in notes which seems counterintuitive.
- On the Notes page, click the Import a blog link on the right side of the page.
- Enter the URL (web address) of your blog into the text box, and check the box underneath that states that you agree to their Terms of Use.
- To complete the process, click on “Save Settings.” Once you do this, your previous posts will appear as notes and any new posts you make will automatically display.
