You may have heard about Google Buzz, but have no idea what it actually is or how it can benefit you. Google Buzz brings all your social sites together so you don’t have to go to lots of different places to see what’s happening. There has been a lot of “buzz” about it recently, due to the fact that it combines many of the popular features of similar sites, as well as offering some unique features of its own.
These include:
- Integration with your existing Gmail account
- Automatic addition of contacts to your friend’s list, based on your Gmail contacts
- Allows both public and private sharing of photos and more
- Allows you to post to your Twitter and other social networking accounts simultaneously
- Works on Google Android phone and iPhones and can pinpoint your exact location and then send you information about restaurants and businesses located nearby
When you login into your Gmail account, you will be prompted to set up and begin using your Google Buzz account. Once set up, you will receive emails whenever someone has commented on one of your posts or updates, so that you can always stay in the loop and see the online “buzz” that you have created.
Like any new social networking feature, there are likely to be a few bugs that will need to be worked out, and some updates that will need to be made. But on the whole, this looks to be a promising new product from Google.
